24 Hour Rule Explained
Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 11:35PM Some people have been curious as to why iVerse requires that you wait 24 hours before saving your comic book to an SD Card.
The reason for this is simple. Google automatically refunds your purchase if you uninstall an application in the first 24 hours of purchase. If you saved your comic to an SD as soon as you downloaded it, and then uninstalled the application, you’d effectively be “stealing” the comic - and you might not even know it was happening.
Having a 24 hour save limit is the only way to ensure to our publishing partners that there isn’t going to be rampant theft of their property.
Hopefully, at some point in the future Google will give developers the power to decide to offer a refund or not for specific content. The 24 hour rule works great for something like a game - something you want to keep in your phone’s memory for a long time - but for entertainment content like a digital comic, it really isn’t the most effective way to do business.
We’re going to be removing the 24 hour wait on all FREE comics, so you won’t have to keep those on your phones any longer than you like.
